Discussion of feeding issues, techniques & prey items (incl. raising & breeding).
I had my first clutch of ball pythons this year so many things are still new to me. I'm concerned that I'm doing something wrong because out of the five that hatched only one has started feeding on their own. I am still assist-feeding the remaining four and losing hope of converting them to f/t....
where can i get dry ice? thanks
Would there be any advantage as far as nutritional value, to feed my snakes quail or chicks vs mice/rats? I have ball pythons and Black Rat Snakes.
Is there an advantage or disadvantage to either? or are they the same?
How many breeder females would I need to supply feeders for 12 ball pythons? Currently all the balls are feeding on F/T weanlings except one that prefers live. Even if I decided to breed my own rats I would still pre-kill them to prevent any chance of them causing harm to my snakes. I'd like the...
What variety of Rat is best to feed Ball Pythons? I am probably going to start breeding my own for feeders, because they are rather expensive where I am, and I don't do F/T. I may be over thinking things, but just wondering if there's some major difference between the varieties that is important...
I rescued a 7 foot red tailed boa. My first snake. She seem very finicky about her rats. The last one died before I got to feed her. She seemed to love it more then the live ones that she is always trying to run from. How do I kill these rats that I have waiting on hand?
Imagine having a rodent room full of these: http://www.livescience.com/animals/080115-largest-rodent.html That would be a whole lot of rodent poop! :nsilly:
I have been feeding both my Bp's two mice every 7 days and they are starting to really grow. I am also seeing my wallet getting lighter and hate having to search for mice in AZ (being so hot its hard to find mice cause many wont produce in warm conditions if a pet store doesnt maintain the proper...
Anyone know of a breeder near Tampa? I found one called FeederPlus.com...I emailed him about me picking up some live about a week ago and still no reply. Thanks for any info  PS...Many pet store have stopped selling live feeders. If they have any at all the are very small.
I am looking for a mouse breeder in AL (mobile to Birmingham) or in Atlanta (or closer to Montgomery, AL in GA) Which sells blue(self), red, dove, lilac, smoke, chinchilla, BEW, smoke pearl, and/or hairless or fuzzy hairless. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks for reading! ;)
Generally speaking, how long does it take for rats to be weaned once their eyes open? Thanks in advance, T
Does anyone know where you can purchase bulk high grade rodent food on the internet? Thanks in advance. T

Which temp is ideal for rat reproduction? What is to cold, to hot? For those of you that breed rodents, what temp do you keep your rodent rooms at? Mine will be in the basement, properly insulated however slightly concerned about temp variation. Is there a mean temp you aim for understanding...
Please help. I have two red spotted newts (wild caught) that I cannot get to eat. One is so skinny I can see its bones under the skin. I have tried Newt food pellets, frozen brine shrimp, live flightless fruit flies - nothing works. I don't want to loose these guys. Any suggestions ASAP?
Hello, I am trying to locate a source(s)/breeder(s) of mice that has live pinkies available on a consistent basis. So far, only a few sporadic litters here and there. I need them for my ever-growing sand boa colonies. Anywhere between Nashua, Springfield, Providence and Boston. If you could...
what does f/t mean for the mice or rats?
I need live feeder/meat chickens some where close to Akron, Ohio. If you have them or know of someone/somewhere let me know. Thanks, Corbin
Hi all, I'm working with 4 mice, all adults 1 male 3 females. Its a pretty large aquarium for the 4 to peacefully coexist. I have a UV fluorescent bulb overhead so they don't get direct sunlight, but there is great airflow around the tank so hopefully it won't make the room smell to aweful....
