This mutation denotes the heterozygous gene carriers of the Anthrax hypermelanistic "motley" retic in NERD's collection. The only Granite Backs that we have made or seen were created by this gene. Since this snakes are "hets" of the Anthrax gene we regard them  unique due to the attributes of the leaky gene that gives them their unusual look. A classic looking Granite Back possesses a high amount of yellow and dissolving pattern down the animals back; the most notable area is the snake's neck with granite patterning. Anyone owning a pair of these snakes should feel lucky since we released some animals prior to our knowledge of what could be created with the Anthrax "motley" gene.

**Beware of individuals online promoting fresh imported "granite backs" as the same morph as this - those WC imports are not from our Anthrax project, and it is not the "same morph" as some like to claim.  Do your homework!
